SAKA NAMED PLAYER OF THE MONTH

Arsenal teenager Bukayo Saka has been named the Player of the Month for January 2021 by the Gunners fans after a series of impressive displays. The Nigerian-born England international player has been in sensational form for the Gunners this season and he's undoubtedly one of the best players at Arsenal despite his young age. The Three Lions of England player was named the Arsenal Player of the Month for January earlier on Wednesday as he retained the award to make it two wins in a row.


Bukayo Saka was first named the Arsenal Player of the Month for December 2020. Before then, new Arsenal signing Gabriel Magalhaes had won the monthly award for September 2020, October 2020 and November 2020.

England international Bukayo Saka started the month of January with a goal in the big win at the home of struggling West Brom. Arsenal beat the Baggies 4-0 in the league with goals from Kieran Tierney, Bukayo Saka and a brace from French striker Alexandre Lacazette. Bukayo Saka didn't score in the second game of the month, a 2-0 extra time win over Newcastle United in the FA Cup third round. He was also not on target in the goalless draw at home to Crystal Palace in the league. Saka returned to scoring form during the 3-0 win over Newcastle United in the league. Pierre-EmerickAubameyang scored the other two goals for the Gunners.
Bukayo Saka came on as a second half substitute in the FA Cup fourth round clash at the home of Southampton as the hosts beat the Gunners 1-0 to eliminate them as the holders. The England international player then scored one and setup one in the 3-1 away win over Southampton in the Premier League. Bukayo Saka won the January Player of the Month ahead of fellow youngster Emile Smith-Rowe and Rob Holding. Alexandre Lacazette and Kieran Tierney were also nominated for the award.
