STERLING ON TARGET IN BIG WIN

Manchester City attacker Raheem Sterling continued his good form against Arsenal when the two clubs met in the Premier League at the weekend. The England international scored the only goal to give Manchester City a 1-0 win over the Gunners on Sunday as the Citizens were able to maintain their winning run and their ten-point lead at the Premier League summit. Raheem Sterling could have scored a second goal minutes later when he was clean through on goal with the Gunners goalkeeper Bernd Leno but the England attacker fluffed his lines to keep the scoreline at 1-0. His profligacy in front of goal didn't come back to haunt him and Manchester City as hosts Arsenal struggled to carve out good opportunities. In the end, it was a comfortable 1-0 victory for Manchester City.

The victory over Arsenal maintained the winning run for Manchester City. The win made it 18 wins in a row in all competitions. In addition, the Citizens have won the last 13 games in the Premier League. With the win, Manchester City remained 10 points clear of both city rivals Manchester United and Leicester City. Just like Manchester City, Manchester United and Leicester City alsosecured respective wins on Sunday. Manchester United defeated Newcastle United 3-1 at home on Sunday night with goals from England attacker Marcus Rashford, Welshman Daniel James and Bruno Fernandes, while Leicester Citybeat Aston Villa 2-1 at home with the goals from the England duo of Harvey Barnes and James Maddison.

For Raheem Sterling, the England man has now scored in the last three games away to Arsenal in the league. He also scoredthe only goal of the game in the reverse leg, a 1-0 win at home to Arsenal at the start of the season.
