Roy Hodgson unsure on Wayne Rooney picking

Posted by content

Roy Hodgson claimed that he is undecided as to whether picking Wayne Rooney for the final group match against Slovakia.

After a late winner against Wales in the previous game, England are now in a good position to qualify from the group and enter into the knockout stages. Following a 1-1 draw with Russia in the opening game, there was a danger of England failing to get out of the group stages at a major tournament once again. There was a sea change in the attitude of the England attack towards the end of the game against Wales.

England and Russia have been given disqualification warning due to the violence from the fans of both teams.

There are terrorism concerns that the police should be attending to but they have been expending considerable time and effort on dealing with the unruly fans, according to the police chief.

Marcus Rashford is unlikely to be taken to the Euro 2016 with the England national team, according to manager Roy Hodgson.

There have been several calls for the Manchester United forward to be included in the squad. Since making his debut only in February, Rashford has already scored seven goals in just 13 appearances for United. Hodgson admitted that he has been left impressed with the striker but this alone is not sufficient to see him included in the squad for the Euro 2016. Hodgson’s decision is likely to be down to the plethora of options that he has in this position.

Roy Hodgson is confident that wingers Raheem Sterling and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain will be fit for the Euro 2016.

Both players have been suffering from injury problems throughout the campaign for Manchester City and Arsenal respectively. Sterling is expected to return in time for the Champions League semifinals against Real Madrid, while Arsenal are expected to nurse back Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain from his knee injury. Oxlade-Chamberlain suffered the injury several weeks ago in the Champions League game against Arsenal. He has been a major absentee for the gunners, as they have seen their title challenge smother just like in every campaign in the last decade.

Roy Hodgson pleased to see his Team Win

Posted by content

Roy Hodgson was extremely pleased to see his team get one over world champions and archrivals Germany even though it was only a friendly game.

Germany secured a 2-0 lead in the game and it looked like an embarrassing score was on the cards. However, England were able to turn around the game in spectacular fashion and came back to win the game 3-2. This remains as one of the finest results achieved by the England team against a top class opponent. However, manager Roy Hodgson has tried to spark some realism within the players by reminding that this was just a friendly game and not a match in a major tournament.

Hodgson doesn't want players too hyped up

Leicester City’s Jamie Vardy and Harry Kane of Tottenham Hotspur are a few of the breakthrough stars of the Premier League of this season. Harry Kane has managed to score 19 league goals in 30 appearances while Jamie Vardy also scored 19 but in 31 matches.

Those players are one of the biggest reasons of why their respective clubs are performing so well in this season.

The forward position appeared to pose the least amount of trouble to manager Roy Hodgson ahead of the Euro 2016.

This was due to the surplus number of options that the manager had in this position. This, however, has considerably changed in recent months with a combination of injuries and poor form affecting the potential look of the team going into the major tournament. The former striker Wayne Rooney has been questionable throughout the campaign. Daniel Sturridge has been injured more often than not in the last two years. Andy Carroll has also suffered the same fate even after making the move to West Ham as a permanent one.

Roy Hodgson says that he expects to be the manager of England until the World Cup 2018. The former West Brom and Liverpool manager has been in charge of the team since the Euro 2012.

Even though results have not been exceptional, Hodgson has been praised for the way he has reduced the age of the national team. He came at a time when the national team was going through a period of decline due to ageing stars like Steven Gerrard and Frank Lampard still dominating the team. Hodgson slowly but surely integrated young names into the team, who now form the basis.

Ross Barkley is one of the best players who can help England at international level according to Everton manager Roberto Martinez.

The Everton boss has given out his suggestions for manager Roy Hodgson to get the best out of Barkley. Regarded as one of the finest young talents at international level right now,Barkley is expected to start a war between the likes of Chelsea and Manchester City. Everton are not keen to sell the player now.Barkley consistently flourished since the arrival of Martinez, who says that he sees the midfielder as an attacking threat rather than a defensive player.
